about

Dreams are great but eventually you have to wake up. This is the last chapter in the Far Enough series. It's all about when dreams come crashing down and the reasons why. I want to take a moment to think all of the awesome people who have contributed to this effort. Sydni Perry, Kris Crowe, Asher Austin, Dori Norman, Dejan Berec, and Paul Wood are the reason you can read this and hear the music that goes along with it.

Track Name: The Regret
I'm in this room full of people I don't even want to know
Never felt so claustrophobic, never felt so all alone
I'm looking for a window but there's not a one in sight
If there was I'd open up and escape into the night
See, my girl just said she loves me but i don't believe her yet
I pretend to have the luxury of playing hard to get
I'm afraid I'll push it too far and I'll want to take it back
But she'll be gone before I realize it's way too late for that

(Chorus)
If she'd tear down the walls I'd watch them fall and welcome her in
I can't tear them down with my own two hands when I've spent so long building them
So I'll wait up here until you understand this is as lonely as it gets
Unless you walk away but then I guess we'll both know
The regret, the regret

You, you're not so different; You've been bitten in the past
Some might say you're reckless; some would say you move too fast
You say love is a reaction; only chemical at best
You see all these unhappy people and wonder what more they expect
I know you've got your reasons but I wonder if you've tried
To live as though it were all a dream and not a dirty lie
Til then we'll be standing here and, no, we don't mind the wait
I mean what's the point of skipping out if you don't sleep in late?

(Chorus)
If she'd tear down the walls I'd watch them fall and welcome her in
I can't tear them down with my own two hands when I've spent so long building them
So I'll wait up here until you understand this is as lonely as it gets
Unless you walk away but then I guess we'll both know
The regret, the regret
Track Name: Leap of Faith
It's a long road to forever
Seems like you're waiting on the other end
The first step's always the hardest
'Cause we can never go back again

See you're all I ever wanted
Except you're out of reach
I could fix that if you wanted
But you can't make this easy and just tell me

How can I go the distance
With no one to catch me when I fall?

(Chorus)
If I take a leap of faith will I fall like blind men do?
How can I carry on when it's just me loving you?
A hopeless fool or a true believer alone in his day
I guess the only way to know for sure's to take
A leap of faith

Some nights the phone just rings forever
Some nights you answer on the second tone
I can't tell if it's coincidence
Or you just want me to leave you alone

Maybe I'm all you never wanted
Or too far gone to reach
I could fix that if you wanted
But you can't make this easy and just tell me

How can I go the distance
With no one to catch me when I fall?

(Chorus)
If I take a leap of faith will I fall like blind men do?
How can I carry on when it's just me loving you?
A hopeless fool or a true believer alone in his day
I guess the only way to know for sure's to take
A leap of faith

Yeah, you're all I ever wanted
Except you're out of reach
I could fix that if you wanted
But you can't make this easy and just tell me

How can I go the distance
With no one to catch me when I fall?

(Chorus)
If I take a leap of faith will I fall like blind men do?
How can I carry on when it's just me loving you?
A hopeless fool or a true believer alone in his day
I guess the only way to know for sure's to take
A leap of faith
Track Name: Wait For Me
Baby, there are things that I should know
Can you be patient while I learn?
Could you still love me if I don't?
Oh will the flame keep burning?

You say you've been down this road before
Me, I've walked a different way
Now I've finally got you in my sight
A river runs between us

(Chorus)
I can do better
I can keep trying
But I can't keep running
So, baby, please
Wait for me

Maybe I'm in over my head
Or should I be worried about my heart?
It's pounding in my chest
Baby, I think I'm drowning

I wonder if this could be the end
I always hoped you be right by my side
I close my eyes and gasp for air
Baby, I'm calling for you

(Chorus)
I can do better
I can keep trying
But I can't keep running
So, baby, please
Wait for me

I wish I knew a way around this
A shortcut to you but I don't
So I'll keep searching
If that's all I can do
If that's all I can do but, baby

Chorus)
I can do better
I can keep trying
But I can't keep running
So, baby, please
Wait for me
Track Name: Take Me As I Am
Take me as I am 'cause I won't be staying long
I'd tell you what's on my mind but I don't think we have that long
You say you wonder why I keep these things to myself
It's not just you I keep them hidden from everyone else

There used to be a time when I could stand on my own
But I've finally felt the weight of walking through this world alone
Each day I wonder if I'm gonna be strong enough
Each step I take I wonder if I've gone far enough

It's been too long uneasy in my own skin
Wish I could throw it away and start all over again
A different me, a different you, a different place and time
I'd burn the script and rewrite all our lines

'Cause talk is cheap and I think you know as much
A thousand pictures couldn't speak for just one touch
The colors blur and with time they start to fade
But that's alright 'cause I don't know what else to say

Oh I wish the time could go by easy
But I know better than that
Track Name: Sleep Forever
I know I could sleep forever
If I were to get the chance
A break from all the heartache
Far beyond failed romance

If my eyes would only stay closed
I'd take the chance to dream
Of some place I'll never go
As perfect as it seems

(Chorus)
Oh to know nothing
As the world burns so bright
I know I could sleep forever
If I could just sleep tonight

If I could sleep forever
I'd learn to forgive
The bruises and the heartache
I'd be forced to relive

I don't know what I'd tell you
If our paths should cross
I might let the chance pass
And count it as a loss

(Chorus)
Oh to know nothing
As the world burns so bright
I know I could sleep forever
If I could just sleep tonight
Track Name: What We're Fighting For
I learned to fight long before I learned to love or be loved
I've wandered through this wasteland for the same
You were the first to tell me to lay my weapon down
I never thought that I'd need it again

(Chorus)
But I was wrong
You changed your mind
I looked away
You struck me blind
I gave you my all
But you wanted more
At least now we know
Just what we're fighting for

Lately I've been lost but I remember when you were my guide
Until the storm clouds fell and you ran away
A stranger in a distant land, I did my best to hide
Praying you'd be back again some day

(Chorus)
But I was wrong
You changed your mind
I looked away
You struck me blind
I gave you my all
But you wanted more
At least now we know
Just what we're fighting for

I thought the worst was over
But my wounds keep coming back

(Chorus)
But I was wrong
You changed your mind
I looked away
You struck me blind
I gave you my all
But you wanted more
At least now we know
Just what we're fighting for
Track Name: What Does Love Look Like
The road ahead is a sea of red lights
Stretching out as far as I can see
I look through my rearview to see just what I'm leaving
But it's dark out and I don't want to see
So

(Chorus)
What does love look like when it's over?
Do hearts ever mend when they break?
Why can't we see the end getting closer?
It's like we don't even know what's at stake

(She said) I'm still here if you want me
Buried way down deep where it's safe
So if you care to, come on down and find me
Say whatever it is you need to say

(Chorus)
What does love look like when it's over?
Do hearts ever mend when they break?
Why can't we see the end getting closer?
It's like we don't even know what's at stake

Some things just fade into the distance
Some scars just sink deeper in
There are some things we'd rather forget
Until we're brave enough to try again

(Chorus)
What does love look like when it's over?
Do hearts ever mend when they break?
Why can't we see the end getting closer?
It's like we don't even know what's at stake
Track Name: Time Marches On
It's raining here in Nashville
You're heavy on my mind
I guess that's the thing 'bout leaving
We never know just what we leave behind

But oh it makes no difference
I'm only here until I fade away

(Chorus)
Battle plans are written in the blood of a poor man's son
We're left to pray and hope the God's not gone
If I could I'd tell you that I love you just one more time
But we retreat and time marches on

Well, the rain shows signs of stopping
My heart's racing double time
I guess that's the thing 'bout changing
It always hurts more this time

But oh it makes no difference
I'm only here until I fade away

(Chorus)
Battle plans are written in the blood of a poor man's son
We're left to pray and hope the God's not gone
If I could I'd tell you that I love you just one more time
But we retreat and time marches on

I hear the echoes in this empty house
And it hits me; it's not a home now

But oh it makes no difference
I'm only here until I fade away

(Chorus)
Battle plans are written in the blood of a poor man's son
We're left to pray and hope the God's not gone
If I could I'd tell you that I love you just one more time
But we retreat and time marches on
Track Name: I'm Out
I'm sorry but I'm tired
You know I hate to let you down
You say you're looking for some answers
I'm sorry but I'm all out

I tried to fix what wasn't broken
And let the broken sit too long
Bent out of shape in the darkness
You never told me what was wrong

(Chorus)
Now we're out of love because you say
Things can't work any other way
Though I wonder just what you're talking about
'Cause there was a time before time got old
When you'd bring me back in from the cold
But it's over and I'll have to do without
I'm out, I'm out

You cried the night you told me
You couldn't take it anymore
After winning so many battles
We gave up the war

I don't how things got so broken
But my pride can be so strong
So maybe I just didn't hear you
When you told me what was wrong

(Chorus)
Now we're out of love because you say
Things can't work any other way
Though I wonder just what you're talking about
'Cause there was a time before time got old
When you'd bring me back in from the cold
But it's over and I'll have to do without
I'm out, I'm out

It's all over but this distance
And there's no such thing as time
Please remember that I was as much yours
As ever you were mine

(Chorus)
Now we're out of love because you say
Things can't work any other way
Though I wonder just what you're talking about
'Cause there was a time before time got old
When you'd bring me back in from the cold
But it's over and I'll have to do without
I'm out, I'm out
Track Name: Wish I Knew You Better
The nights drag on forever
And I miss most of the days
There's a lonesome feeling
Deep down in my bones
I can't seem to shake

(Chorus)
Baby, I wish I knew you better
And I wish you'd wish the same
But what's the point of hoping
When you say these things don't ever change?

The sun comes up too early
I don't think I'll play today
I've second, third, and even
fourth guessed my every move
Since I let you slip away

(Chorus)
Baby, I wish I knew you better
And I wish you'd wish the same
But what's the point of hoping
When you say these things don't ever change?

I could go on like this forever
Just aching this way
But what's the point of patience
When you say these things don't ever change?

(Chorus)
Baby, I wish I knew you better
And I wish you'd wish the same
But what's the point of hoping
When you say these things don't ever change?
